It has been our family’s pride for over 70 years, starting with our grandfather, Ted Hill, who grew his first crop in 1948.

We’ve kept the spirit of those simpler times to this day, rooting our standards in the same rich seeds, soil, and sun. That’s what makes the healthiest harvest, from field to mill to meal. That’s our promise to grow every day into something better.

1948
Ted Hill has his first rice crop. He bought timber land, cleared it and developed land to farm rice.
1980
James Hill (son of Ted) had his first rice crop. Largest drought the Arkansas river delta experienced to date.
2001
James bought Hill Seed & Elevator, where Hill’s Select is located. Buys, stores, and sells seed to farmers.
2002-2008
Daniel and Wade (2 sons) attended U of A. Both graduating with a bachelor of science in AG marketing.
2007-2009
Daniel and Wade each started farming along with their father James. Still farm together today.
2018
Decided to purchase the rice mill to share the high quality rice with consumers. Focused on being vertically integrated.
